His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, announced the launch of the Dubai Arts Museum (Duma) — a spectacular new cultural destination to be built on an island in the heart of Dubai Creek.
Designed by legendary Japanese architect Tadao Ando, Duma is envisioned as a floating museum over water, positioning Dubai as “the capital of modern art and a global destination for creativity.”

Architect Tadao Ando, known globally for works like the Church of Light and Chichu Art Museum, brings his signature blend of concrete, geometry, and natural harmony to Duma. The museum will seamlessly merge contemporary architecture with Dubai’s rich maritime history.
