India launched a strong rebuttal against Pakistan at the United Nations General Assembly’s Decolonisation Committee, describing it as the “fountainhead of terror, violence, bigotry, intolerance, and extremism.”
The statement was delivered by N. K. Premachandran, Member of Parliament from Kerala and representative of the Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), during discussions on decolonisation and self-determination.
⚖️ India Condemns Pakistan’s Human Rights Abuses in Occupied Territories
In a firm statement, India demanded that Pakistan immediately end its grave and continuing human rights violations in the Pakistan-occupied territories of Jammu and Kashmir, where, it said, the population remains in open revolt against Pakistan’s military occupation, repression, and exploitation of local resources.
Premachandran highlighted the Pahalgam terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir as yet another reminder of Pakistan’s continued sponsorship of terrorism and attempts to destabilize peace in the region.
🔥 “A Country Infamous for Using Terrorism as State Policy”
Calling out Pakistan’s hypocrisy, the Indian representative said it was “deeply ironic” that a nation “infamous across the globe for using terrorism as an instrument of state policy” would attempt to malign the world’s largest democracy at an international forum.
“Jammu and Kashmir is, and will always remain, an integral and inalienable part of India,” Premachandran asserted, reaffirming New Delhi’s long-standing position on the region.
He also cited UN Security Council Resolution 47 (1948) to emphasize Pakistan’s continued violation of international norms by illegally occupying parts of Jammu and Kashmir for over seven decades.
🌍 India’s Strong Stand at the UN
India’s intervention comes amid growing international scrutiny of Pakistan’s internal instability and global isolation due to its continued patronage of extremist groups.
New Delhi has repeatedly urged the global community to hold Islamabad accountable for cross-border terrorism, radicalization, and human rights abuses in the areas it controls.
At the UN session, India reiterated that Pakistan has no locus standi to comment on India’s internal affairs, particularly on Jammu and Kashmir, and must instead focus on ending terrorism emanating from its soil.
